Obituary

Amon Croston, 72, of Canton, passed away Monday, November 13th, at Mercy Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Born in Philippi , WV on August 4, 1945, a son of the late Laura (Mayle) Croston; also preceded in death by 7 sisters Sygurnie Newman, Miranda Mayle, Orleans Dalton, Isabella Newman, Evelenie Kennedy, Rettie Newman, Violine Kennedy; 3 brothers Edgar, Jethro, and Nickodemes Croston. Employed as a Locomotive Engineer at Republic Steel Corp. of Canton for 37 years before retiring in 2002. Amon served in the U.S. Army during the 2nd Korean Conflict from 1965-1967. Also a member of the Allegheny Lenape Indian Council of Canton. Survived by  his wife Lois (Kennedy) Croston whom he married December 22nd, 1965, daughter Leslie (Vincent) Kennedy, of E. Canton and son Stephen (Veronica) Croston, of E. Canton,  4 grandchildren Brayden, Brooke, Alexander, Dominic, also many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held in the Waltner-SIMCHAK Funeral Home, 11am, Friday, November 17th with Rev. Raymond Stanley officiating with burial to follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
