Obituary

Deacon Bernice H. Benison, 84, of Canton, passed away Saturday, December 11th, at Aultman Hospital. Born in Brundige, Alabama on February 1, 1937, a daughter of the late Mitchell and Willie Mae (Moultrie) Frazier, also preceded in death by the love of her life Jessie Benison; sister Hattie Mae Shipp and 4 brothers Mitchell Frazier, John K. Frazier, Charles Frazier and James Frazier. A Deacon of the Mt. Calvary Second Baptist Church of Canton, she volunteered for the Salvation Army. Survived by daughter Carla Benison, of Columbus; son Cornell Benison Sr., of Seattle, Washington; sister Alice Lucille Frazier; 6 brothers Freddie (Marcia) Frazier, Henry Frazier, all of Canton, Merthy Frazier, of East Canton, Sylvester Frazer, of Canton, Warren (Bertha) Baber, of N. Canton, Darryl Frazier, of Waynesburg; 6 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 31st in the Mt. Calvary Second Baptist Church, 1000 3rd St. NE, Canton, 44704 with Reverend Philip Moore officiating. Friends and family may call 1 hour prior to services. Burial in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens will follow.
