Bessie Nell Cunningham, 84, of Canton, passed away Tuesday, February 15th, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Enterprise, Alabama on March 28, 1937, a daughter of the late Wallace and Robbie (Haygood) Lightner; also preceded in death by 4 brothers Edgar Sonny McNair, Wallace Lightner, Robert Lightner, and Alfred Haygood. A faithful member of Peoples Baptist Church of Canton. She retired in 1995 from her position at the Timken Company. She is survived by her son Bradford (Kisha) Cunningham, of Canton; 2 sisters Juanita Matthews, of San Antonio, TX and Willa (Tom) Swafford, of Canton; 3 grandchildren, Brian Jr., Tiyonna, and Isaiah, as well as 2 great-grandchildren, Brian III and William; and a host of nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
