Betty M. Kirkley
Betty M. Kirkley, a.k.a. 'Bingo Betty,' 88, of Canton went home to be with The Lord, Saturday, January 18, following a brief illness. Betty was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 4, 1925, the daughter of the late Edward and Lola (Mae) Chamberlain, also preceded in death by her husband Roger Everett Kirkley, died August 17, 1961; two sons-in-law Donald Collier, Edward Dolph; two sisters, Etta Martin and Dorothy Sellercheck. Member of the former St. Paul's Catholic Church of Canton; an avid bingo player with a passion for the Cleveland Indians, The Browns and The Pittsburgh Steelers as well as for watching pro-wrestling.
Survived by four daughters Susan (Ted) Confalone of E. Rochester, Patricia (Edward) Minto of Canton, Kathleen Collier of Paris, Judy Dolph of Canton; six sons Billy Kirkley of New Mexico, James Kirkley of Dunedin, FL., Dennis Kirkley of Canton, David Kirkley of Cleveland, Michael Kirkley, and Robert Kirkley both of Canton; twenty-five grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren; nephew Eldon (Jean) Sellercheck of Cleveland, niece Maryann Martin; nephews Kenneth and Roger Martin all from Arkansas.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 24, at 10:30 am in the Waltner-SIMCHAK Funeral Home with Fr. Edward Stafford officiating. Friends may call on Thursday 6-8 pm also in the funeral home. Entombment to take place in the Mausoleum in North Lawn Cemetery.
