Carol Massey, 77, of Columbus, formerly of Canton, passed away Friday, July 17th, at Mt. Carmel St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville. Born in Canton, on November 16, 1942, a daughter of the late Christian C and Vivian (Gonsalves) Fontes, also preceded in death by son Ronald Massey, 2 brothers Edward and Julio Fontes, sister-in-law Mary Fontes and grandson Michael Wayne Lanzy. A former member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. Survived by 5 daughters Rita (Henry) Solomon, of Akron, Ruby Massey, of Cleveland, Carolyn (Richard Jones) Williams, of Worthington, Sherry Williams, of Columbus, Sharon Rouse, of Columbus; 1 son Roger Massey, of Toledo; 3 sisters Marie Pride, Sonja (Tyrone) Nance, Anna Marie (Carlton) Williams; 4 brothers Adelino Fontes, Richard (Rosemary) Fontes, John Fontes, Maneul Fontes; sister-in-law Mammie Fontes as well as 28 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 24th in the Waltner - SIMCHAK Funeral Home in Canton. Friends and family may call from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Burial in Calvary Cemetery following services.
