Carol Kay Snyder, 81, of Massillon, formerly of Illinois and Iowa, passed away Thursday, July 7th, at her home surrounded by loved ones. Born in Carthage, Illinois on July 10, 1940, a daughter of the late Arthur and Olive (Kelly) Walton, also preceded in death by daughter Theresa M. Deck, 5 sisters Rena, Sue, June, Ruby, Annie, 4 brothers Bill, Marion, Bobby, and Chris. A lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene, Carol had a deep reverence and love for the Lord. She was a loving and caring person to all of those around her, known to often forgo her needs, to meet those of others. She was an active member at Sarah Care of Belden Village where she made many new friends and memories. Survived by daughter Stacey (Kenneth) Owens, of Massillon; 2 sons Scott (Robin) Thompson, also of Massillon, Larry (Debra Tate) Thompson, of Rock Falls, Illinois; brother Pat Walton, of Lyndon, Illinois; 3 grandchildren Carol (Jon) Post, Shae Roberts, Rebecca Burgdorf; 4 great-grandchildren Chase (Kylie), Grace, Owen, Aiden; as well as many nieces; nephews; family members; and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
