Chris M. Coffey, 74, of Massillon passed away Sunday, August 16, 2026 at Altercare of Navarre. Born in Murphy, North Carolina on October 9, 1951, he was the son of the late Warren and Geneva Coffey. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Judson Coffey. He is survived by his loving wife, Cathy Schwab. Chris was a FAA-certified A&P airplane mechanic who worked for Republic Airlines. He took great pride in his work and the knowledge and skills he gained throughout his career. He also enjoyed remote-control airplanes, sharing his love of aviation in another way. Chris was a member of the Great Ohio Coaster Club and American Coaster Enthusiasts, where he enjoyed his appreciation for roller coasters and the experiences that came with them. Chris was also proud of his time with Job Corps, where he spent a couple of years. He often enjoyed talking about the things he accomplished, the experiences he had, and the places he was able to go during that time. Music was another important part of his life, and he enjoyed playing guitar. He also had a special love for cats and the companionship they brought him. Chris will be remembered for his many interests, his pride in the things he accomplished, and the stories he loved to share about the experiences that shaped his life. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
