Clara M. Walker

Clara M. Walker, 66, of Canton went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 1st in University Hospital of Cleveland following a lengthy illness.  Clara was born in Canton, on June 10, 1947. Preceded in death by her father James McElroy and brother Terry McElroy.  She was a member of the Christ Apostolic Church of Mineral City and was employed as a cafeteria cook with Canton City Schools (Washington Elementary School) for 28 years, retiring in 2003.

Survived by her mother Elizabeth McElroy of Canton, loving husband Rev. Al Walker Sr. of the home; two daughters Sadina (Rev. Dr. Willie) Outlaw of Elgin, SC, Elizabeth Walker of Canton; two sons Allie Walker Jr. of Ripley, WV; Matthew (Lisa) Walker of Canton; sister Linda Clark of Canton; three brothers James McElroy of California, Larry McElroy and Minister Anthony McElroy both of Canton; five grandchildren, uncle Curtis McElroy of Kent; best friend Eula Collier of Canton and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held in the Greater Bethel Apostolic Church, 2335 15th St SW, Canton, 44706, at 11 AM on Friday, January 10; eulogy by Pastor Brian Starcher. Friends may call Thursday, January 9, from 6-8 PM in the Waltner-SIMCHAK Funeral Home and on Friday one hour prior to service in the church.  Burial to take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens of Louisville.
