Claude W. Hilton, Sr.

Claude W. Hilton, Sr., 85, of  Canton passed way Thursday, January 3rd, 2013 at his residence.

Claude was born in Saltville, Virginia on March 4, 1927, the son of the late Joe Bob Hilton and Nellie (Sawyer) Hilton Bird, also preceded in death by daughter Kathy Reeves, stepdaughter Jo Ellen Harmon, three sisters and two brothers. Employed as a foreman for the Republic Steel Corp. of Canton until his retirement in 1987. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Eagles Lodge Aerie #2223 of North Canton and the VFW Post #2533 of Mineral City.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Norma (Thomas) Hilton, a daughter Alice Fowler of Canton; four sons Jerry (Debbie) Hilton of Louisville, Dale (Judy) Hilton of E. Sparta, Victor Hilton and Claude Hilton Jr. both of Canton; two stepdaughters Elaine Owens and Pamela Parsons;  four stepsons James, Ronald, Kevin and Daniel Lorenze, his brother Wayne Hilton of Elizabethtown, Tenn.; and by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held in the Waltner-SIMCHAK Funeral Home in Canton, at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 7th. Friends may call  Sunday January 6th from 6 PM - 8 PM  also in the funeral home. Entombment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
