It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of Cody Richard "Chubbz" Grove, of Tuscarawas County, who left us far too soon on August 26th, 2025 at the age of 35. Born in Massillon, on November 4, 1989, a son of Lea (Mahaffey) Marburger and Glenn Richard Grove. He is preceded in death by grandparents Bonnie & Ernest Mahaffey, Leona & Robert Shelker, Faith Carol Grove, Dale (Beverly) Marburger as well as various aunts and uncles. Cody was a true original, a larger-than-life spirit who brought joy, laughter, and maybe a few harmless pranks wherever he went. Known for his infectious laugh, offbeat jokes, and uncanny ability to turn any gathering into a party, Cody was the kind of person you never forgot — and never wanted to. He was someone who made life lighter, brighter, and far more fun. He lived fully, loved fiercely, and laughed often. He found peace and purpose in the great outdoors. Whether it was casting a line at dawn or tracking through the woods at dusk, Cody was happiest with a rod in one hand, a rifle in the other, and nature all around. His love for hunting and fishing wasn't just a hobby,  it was a way of life, a way to connect with the world and the people he loved. Cody was also an avid fan of the Los Angeles Chargers, cheering them on with passion, win or lose. He will be deeply missed by everyone around him. Survived by his mother Lea (Brian) Marburger; his father Glenn "Rich" Grove; his siblings Samantha (Mica) Highben, Gunnar (Danielle) Striker, Hunter (Bayli) Striker, Hannah Grove, Corbin Grove; 4 nephews Benjamin, Gunnar Jr., Emersyn, Rowan; 3 nieces Lillian, Madeleine, Vivienne; grandparents Melvin (Phyllis) Grove; multiple aunts & uncles including his favorite, Aunt Renee Beahm; many cousins; as well as other loving family members and friends.
