Obituary

Constance "Connie" Bishop, 67, of Heath, Ohio passed away Sunday, May 7th, at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital. Born in Newark, Ohio on September 5, 1955, a daughter of the late Carl  and Marjorie Butler, also preceded in death by sister Susie Butler and beloved dog Lola. Employed for many years at Newark Air Force Base and then at Defense Supply Center of Columbus, DSCC, before retiring. She was a member of The Eagles, Elks, Moose, and Druids Lodge, all of Newark, as well as the Buckeye Lake AmVets Post 51. Connie spent much of her time watching her grandchildren in sporting events, 4-H, dance recitals, birthday parties, and many other activities. An avid Elvis fan, Connie loved to dance, go to car shows and county fairs. Survived by 2 daughters Jennifer (Mike) Harris, of Brownsville, Kelly (Tim) Talbot, of Thornville; son Jack (Amber) Bishop, of Thornville; 5 sisters Marlene (Albert) Bevard, Betsy Lewis, Cindy (Jack) Samuels, Pam (Carl) Carson, Brenda (Jeff) Miller; brother Eddie (Connie) Butler; 10 grandchildren Brandon (Paige), Timmy (Jana), Tanner, Teagan, Colton (Jena Wharton), Tyler, Lily, Kaelan, Maddie, Leighton; and 3 great-grandchildren Cohen, Calvin and Hudson as well as ex-husband and long time companion Michael Bishop. A celebration of life will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, May 12th in the American Legion Post 58 of Somerset.
