Crystal M. Maitert, 96, a lifelong resident of Canton, rose to Heaven on Saturday, March 19th, 2011, after a period of declining health. Crystal was born in Canton, on January 2, 1915, the daughter of the late Gustav and Crystal (Herbruck) Maitert. Retired in 1979 from the Stark County Treasurer's Office after 34 years of service. She had many hobbies over the years including stamp collecting, piano, photography and crafts, traveled the world and wrote detailed accounts of her adventures and made many friends. Although she had many struggles, her faith kept her mind strong. Survived by a sister Joyce MacDonald, a cousin, three nieces and one nephew. The family would like to thank the sisters and staff at the House of Loreto for their loving care.

Graveside Services will be held at 1pm on Monday, March 28, 2011 at Forrest Hill Cemetery Canton, with Rev. Ephraim Costilow officiating.
