Darlene Allender, 78, of Canton South, passed away Monday, March 4th, at St Luke's Nursing Home. Born in Philippi, West Virginia on October 13, 1945, a daughter of the late Luther and Dorothy (Kennedy) Croston, also preceded in death by sister Louise Mayle, and brother Marvin Croston. Darlene graduated from East Canton High School. She was a people person, many will remember her for organizing, attending, and hosting family gatherings. She especially loved her time spent with family at the West Virginia picnic. Survived by her husband of 58 years, Alvin L Allender; 2 sons Dana (Noel) Allender, of Rocky River and Duane Allender, of Canton; sisters Donna Buskirk; brother David Croston; 2 beloved grandchildren Blake and Sydney; as well as many other family members and friends. A Funeral Service will be held at 12 PM, on Saturday, March 9th, in the Waltner-Simchak Funeral Home, with Pastor Ron Mayle officiating. Calling Hours will begin 2 hours prior to the service. Burial will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, of Louisville.
