Daryl W. Kirkpatrick, 70, of East Canton passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at Mercy Hospital. Born in Canton on September 4, 1955, he was the son of the late Layman and Madge (Smith) Kirkpatrick. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Crystal Kirkpatrick, son Jeremy Kirkpatrick, and his brother Don Kirkpatrick. Daryl will be remembered as a hardworking man with a big heart, a wonderful sense of humor, and a personality that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Whether family was gathered at home or friends had stopped by, it wasn't uncommon to hear his familiar call echo through the house: "Hey Judy!"-a phrase that became one of his many trademarks and one that will forever bring smiles to those who loved him. Daryl shared a lifelong partnership with his beloved wife, Judy, in both life and business. Together they proudly owned and operated East Canton Sharp All, where they sold fishing bait and provided saw and lawn mower blade sharpening services. He dedicated many years of employment to Timken before retiring. Even after retirement, Daryl remained active by working part-time as a security guard, always valuing hard work and staying busy. Daryl found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fan of trains and loved collecting and operating train sets. He could often be found listening to the timeless music of Johnny Cash, whose songs were among his favorites. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially cutting trees and firewood alongside Judy, creating memories through the work they loved to do together. His home was never complete without his faithful dog, Ben, and Georgie the cat, both of whom held a special place in his heart. He cherished their companionship just as much as he cherished the time spent with his family and friends. Survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Judy (Hoffer) Kirkpatrick; 2 step-daughters Martha (Denver) Belknap, Brenda (Randy) O'Connor; 2 step-sons Obed (Amy) Dalton, Willmer (Wendy) Dalton; sister Tina Kirkpatrick; brother Timothy (Michelle) Kirkpatrick; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles; as well as other loving family members and friends. A funeral will be held in the Ward-Simchak Funeral Home on Thursday, August 6, at 2pm. Friends and family may call two hours prior. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
