David D. Barker, 53, of Canton, passed away Wednesday, February 9th. Born in Canton on February 10, 1968, a son of the late Geraldine (Pettit) Muntean and Norman Barker, also preceded in death by sister Cheryl Grueser. After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps he was employed at Union Metal of Canton as a welder and millwright for 20 years, with his last employment being at A.R.E. Truck Caps. Survived by loving wife Carrie A. (Silverthorn) Barker; daughter Hailey Elizabeth Barker, of the home; son Jesse (Chelsea) Cole, of Gainesville, Florida; 2 sisters Franny (Brian) Bowser, of Minerva, Patty Muntean, of Canton; sister-in-law Deanna Whaley of Canton, and father-in-law, Larry Silverthorn of Canton; 4 grandchildren Olivia, Maya, Jesse Jr, David; 2 nieces Sara, Ashley and 5 nephews Sam, Levi, Cody, Dylan and Chaise as well as numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and mother-in-law, Susan Amatangelo, with whom he shared a very special bond. He was a very supportive husband and father and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at Canton Freewill Baptist Church on Saturday, February 19, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
