David E. Mullett Sr. 83, of Louisville, passed away Friday November 7 th . With his family at his side. Born in Salem to the late Albert and Valois (Porter) Mullett. Graduated from Sebring High School, was a 3 sport athlete earning 11 Varsity letters and 1st team all-state honors for baseball in 1950. Dave was inducted into the Sebring Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005. After graduation he proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps, during the Korean War. During the war he was wounded and returned home to play professional baseball for the Boston Braves. After retiring from baseball Dave and his wife Eleanor moved to Canton and was employed with Sugardale Foods for over 30 years, retiring in 1985. Dave loved all sports and was an avid golfer. Spent his last 25 years in Florence, SC but recently returned to Canton to be near his family. Survived by 3 daughters Debra (Tim) Fox of Hull, MA., Patti (Mark) DiBlasi of Hartland, WI., Lisa Taber of Blackstone, MA.; 1 son David (Traci) Mullett Jr. of Louisville; 1 brother Leonard "Sonny" Mullett of East Liverpool; 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 am Tuesday November 11th in the Waltner-SIMCHAK Funeral Home with Reverend Dave Storlie officiating.
