Obituary

Deborah J. Deetz, 64, of New Philadelphia, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, March 3rd at Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing at Schoenbrunn. Born in New Jersey on July 1st, 1961, the daughter of the late Willard Wigfield and Doris (Hess) Baker. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter Michelle Jean Deetz, son Mitch Fox, and brother Willard Wigfield III. Deborah was a woman whose heart was as big as her smile. She passed away leaving behind a legacy of kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Deborah had a servant's heart and found true joy in helping others. Whether it was offering a listening ear, preparing a warm meal, or simply showing up when someone needed her most, she was always there. At her workplace, she became affectionately known as "Mom" - a name that perfectly captured her nurturing spirit. She looked after everyone as if they were her own, offering guidance, comfort, and sometimes a gentle dose of motherly advice. She was a wonderful cook who expressed her love through the meals she prepared. Family gatherings were made extra special by the care she poured into every dish. Deborah also knew how to enjoy life's simple pleasures. She was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, cheering them on with passion each season. She loved spending time playing bingo, hoping for that lucky call, and scratching off lottery tickets with the same hopeful excitement. Above all, Deborah was a proud and devoted mother, but it was in her role as grandma that she truly shined. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She offered unconditional love, warm hugs, and memories that will be treasured forever. Deborah's kindness, laughter, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Survived by daughter Cassandra (Chad) Haney; 2 sons Jason (Kaitlin) Duncan, Alex Deetz; brother Dwayne Wigfield; 13 grandchildren Jera, Daylon, Anthony, Sta-Shawn, Andre, Izaik, Alex Jr., Amaria Michelle, Aliana, Kaisonn, Jaslin, Cody, Corey; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as other loving family members and friends. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
