Dennis L Newman, 70, of Canton, passed away Sunday, September 9th, at Aultman Compassionate Care Center following a lengthy illness. Born in Grafton, West Virginia on July 19, 1948, a son of the late Dennis E. and Lovada (Minard) Newman, also preceded in death by sister Diane Mayle and infant brother John Newman. Employed as a mechanic for Republic Storage for 30 years before retiring in 1996 and was a member of the Canton Freewill Baptist Church. Besides his wife Linda (Parsons) Newman, married October 15th, 2000, he is survived by 3 daughters Connie (Keith Tanner) Butterfield, of Robertsville, Teresa (Edward) Morris, Annette (Mark) Mayle, all of Malvern; step-daughter Krissie (Jimmy) Mayle, step-son Eric (Tiffany Tabler) Collins; 2 sisters Deborah Kennedy, all of Canton, Maureen (John) Meek, of New Hampshire; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; special friends Joyce Newman, of Malvern, Roger (Sonia) Stutler, of Canton; many nieces; nephews; loving family; and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday, September 13th in the Canton Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Anthony Mayle officiating. Friends may call from 6PM to 8PM on Wednesday, September 12th in the Waltner-SIMCHAK Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
