IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donna
Betts
September 14, 1949 – March 3, 2026
Donna Jean Betts, 76, passed away on Tuesday, March 3rd in her home surrounded by her family. Born on September 14th, 1949 in Cleveland to the late Domingo and Agnes (Corrie) Silva. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Elzie Betts, son Ronald Silva, sister Mary Weir, and brother Anthony Silva. Donna was a woman whose heart was as big as her spirit was strong. A hard worker throughout her life, she dedicated many years to her career, showing up each day with determination, resilience, and pride. She believed in earning everything she had and in giving back whenever she could. Donna had a generous soul and found great purpose in helping others. She faithfully supported charitable organizations, including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, always wanting to make a difference in the lives of children and families in need. Her compassion was not just something she spoke about, it was something she lived. Above all else, Donna was a devoted and loving mother. Her babies were her entire world, and she made sure each one of them knew they were cherished beyond measure. She loved fiercely, protected endlessly, and supported wholeheartedly. Her strength and guidance shaped their lives in countless ways. Known for her feisty personality, Donna never backed down from speaking her mind. She had a spark about her-strong-willed, spirited, and full of life. That same fire made her unforgettable to everyone who knew her. Donna shared an especially close bond with her sister Mary. Together they were affectionately known as "Thelma and Louise," inseparable in laughter, adventure, and loyalty, a nod to the iconic duo from Thelma & Louise. Their sisterhood was a beautiful testament to friendship and unconditional love. Donna's passing is a tremendous loss to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed but forever remembered for her strength, generosity, fiery spirit, and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her children, her sister, and all those whose lives she touched. Survived by 2 daughters Dianna Thompson-Betts, Donita Silva; son Rodney Betts; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 1-great-great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as other loving friends and family. A funeral service will be held in the Ward-Simchak Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 10 at 12pm. Friends and family may call one hour prior. Burial will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens following the service.
