Donna Jean
Smith
Sep 23, 1951 — Jul 13, 2026
Donna Jean (Hebb) Smith, 74, of Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026, following a sudden illness.
Born on September 23, 1951, in Grafton, West Virginia, Donna made Canton her home for more than 50 years, where she built a life centered on love, family, kindness, and unwavering faith.
Donna will be remembered for her beautiful smile, gentle spirit, and remarkable positivity. Although she courageously lived with progressive multiple sclerosis and numerous health challenges for more than 30 years, she never allowed her circumstances to define her. Her strength, compassion, and optimistic outlook inspired everyone who knew her. She had a unique gift for lifting the spirits of others, always offering encouragement, kindness, and hope.
She also found joy in life's simple pleasures. Donna was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, an avid NASCAR enthusiast, and loved staying connected with family and friends through Facebook. Her passion for NASCAR never faded-she was watching a race until her very last moments, a testament to her enduring spirit and appreciation for the things she loved.
Donna's greatest joy was her family. She is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Dannie Smith; her sons, Dannie (Scot) Smith (Stacie) and Jay Smith (Sherry); and her cherished granddaughters, Kaelie, Madisyn, and Chloe Smith, who brought immeasurable happiness to her life.
Donna's legacy is one of unconditional love, unwavering resilience, infectious optimism, and quiet strength. She taught those around her that life's greatest challenges can be met with grace, courage, and a smile. Her kindness touched countless lives, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her.
The family asks that Donna be remembered not for the challenges she faced, but for the extraordinary grace, kindness, and love with which she faced them every day. Her smile and gentle spirit will be deeply missed and forever treasured.
