Elmer E. (Pete) Weaver, 88, relocated to Heaven Oct. 20, 2014. His wife of 63 years and his family were by his side. Pete was preceded in death by his only sibling Maxine and his great grandchild Oliver. Treasuring his memory are his wife Jackie; children Jan (Mike) Wojno, Judy (Edward) Black, Greg (Michelle) Weaver; grandchildren Erin (Eren) Demiray, Katie (Anthony) Lancianese, Dana Wojno (Jonas) Fortenberry, Briany, Brittany, Brent Black; great grandchildren Grace, Samuel, Lucia, and Hugh. Pete lived in West Virginia, graduated from Weirton High, joined the Air Force in WWII as soon as he turned 18, then traveled the world with the Merchant Marines. He settled in Akron, attended Kent State University and met the love of his life Jackie Horner. They married 6 months later, he became a real estate appraiser, raised a family and loved his life. Pete was known for his stories, tall tales, and jokes - in which he often forgot the punchline. He and Jackie could not pass a yard or tag sale without stopping. Lilly, their Yorkie, was usually with them. Most of all Pete was devoted to his wife Jackie and was loved and respected by his family for his kind, quiet and gentle demeanor and strength of character. A memorial service and gathering of family and friends will be held at Faith Family Church on Saturday from 10:00 - noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Family Church, 8200 Freedom Ave. NW, North Canton, 44720. Add your condolences at www.waltner-simchak.com
