Emil Marginean, age 93, of Worthington, passed away Tuesday, January 27 th at home. Born June 13, 1921 in Massillon and a graduate of Massillon Washington High School, class of 1939. A World War II veteran, U.S. Marine Corps, Pacific Theater. Attended both Bowling Green State University and Ohio State University. Worked for Turner Construction, Ohio Road Paving and retired after over thirty-seven years of service with the Ohio Department of Transportation. Regular attendee of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Worthington. Preceded in death by his wife Virginia, son Gary Marginean, siblings John and Mary Istrate of Romania, Charles Marginean, Victoria Zagan, Mary Sima, Maria Hartzagan and Anna Bickis. Survived by his son Emil J. Marginean of Columbus; brother Eugene Marginean of Canton; grandchildren John (Stephanie) Marginean and Kelley Marginean and great granddaughter Olivia all of Hilliard; step-grandchildren Lynn (Kirk) Spencer of Maineville, Patti Berenstein of Columbus, Jamie (Doug) Purcell of Powell, and many step-great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday January 31 st at 11 AM in the St. George Romanian Catholic Cathedral, Canton, burial to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
