Esther Grace Dershaw, 82, of Canton, passed away Monday, December 16th. Born in Youngstown, on October 8, 1942, a daughter of the late Elverton and Nellie (Gallagher) Dunn. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Sister Mary Dunn (OSU). Esther was a registered nurse at Massillon Community Hospital for 28 years before retiring in 2008. An active member of St. George Romanian Byzantine Catholic Cathedral, where she served on the Sf. Maria Ladies Auxiliary and was a Sacristan of the Church. Survived by loving husband of 50 years James Dershaw; daughter Maryellen (Richard) Newell; 2 grandsons Jacob Schul and Sam Schul as well as other family members and friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 23rd at 11AM in the St. George Romanian Byzantine Catholic Cathedral, 1123 44th St NE, Canton, OH 44714, with Very Rev. Fr. Ovidiu Marginean, officiating. Calling hours will be held 1 hour before services. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery of Massillon.
