Eugene Marginean, 93, of Canton, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, February 26th, at Windsor Medical Center. Born in Massillon, on February 13, 1924 and a graduate of Massillon Washington High School, class of 1942.  Gene worked at Hercules Motors of Canton during and after graduating high school.  Attended barber college and became a barber in 1946 shortly thereafter establishing "Gene Marginean's Barber Shop"near 14th Street on Oxford Ave. NW across from the original Lehman High School.  For 47 years Gene remained a barber and was well known throughout the community.  After his retirement in 1992, he and his wife, Irene, enjoyed many winters in Florida together and their summers here in Canton.  Member and regular attendee of St. George Romanian Catholic Cathedral of Canton, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.  Preceded in death by his parents Vasilie and Marie (Bozosan) Marginean, his wife Irene (Lallo) Marginean, died April 8, 2003, son James Marginean, siblings John and Mary Istrate of Romania, Charles Marginean, Emil Marginean Sr., Victoria Zagan, Mary Sima, Maria Hatzagan, and Anna Bickis.  Survived by 2 daughters Judy (Ronnie) Surmay of Louisville, Jeanne Brendlen of N. Canton, a son Jeff Marginean of N. Canton; grandchildren Marc Surmay, Ryan (Jen) Surmay, Dawn Rogers, Joe Brendlen, Kristen and Amy Marginean; great-grandchildren Alex Harbaugh, Jacob Brendlen, Nathan Surmay and Olivia Beisel.

Funeral Services will be held at noon, Wednesday, March 1st at St. George Romanian Catholic Cathedral with Very Rev. Fr. Ovidiu Marginean as officiant, burial to follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.  Friends may call one hour prior to services on Wednesday also in the church.
