Forrest Earl Simmons Jr, 73, of Canton, passed away Wednesday, November 3rd, at Mercy Medical Center. Born in Parsons, West Virginia on March 25, 1948, a son of Martha Ann (Perks) and the late Forrest Earl Simmons Sr. Besides his father, he is preceded in death by his wife Eve (Briggs) Simmons. Served in the U.S. Army as a PFC in the Vietnam Conflict, where he received 2 Purple Hearts. Besides his mother he is survived by 4 daughters Barbara Westervelt, of Michigan, Renee Dennis, Candey McCarey, both of Canton, Jodi Hendrickson, of Kentucky; 2 sons Paul Simmons, John Hall, both of Canton; 6 sisters Marlene Rizer, of Florida, Chrissie Glota, of Canton, Lois Eggleston, of North Canton, Patricia Martinez, Roberta Franklin, both of Canton, Pam Crowe, of Utah; 2 brothers Douglas Simmons, of Michigan, Lewis Alkire, of South Carolina; 12 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
