George  Musat

George  Musat, 96, of North Canton passed away Saturday, May 4th, at his residence following a lengthy illness.  George was born in Canton on November 11, 1916, the son of the late George and Maria (Suteu) Musat Sr. also preceded in death by his loving wife Valeria "Val" (Lup) Musat, died February 13th, 2001; two sisters Virginia Sandru, Rozeta Metes and a brother John Musat.

A member of St. George Romanian Orthodox Church, the Retired Executives Club and the Hall of Fame Luncheon Club all of Canton. Graduated from New York University in 1938 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Employed for 30 years at Babcox & Wilcox of Alliance, retiring as the Director of their Research Center. Served in the Army Air Corp as a First Lieutenant during World War II.

Survived by two daughters Mary Eleanor Musat-Crandall of Providence, RI, Valerie (Kevin) Glynn of Lakeville, Mass.; two grandchildren Casey and Connor Glynn; cousin Oliver Musat; seven nephews John, George and Nick Metes, Nick and George Sandru, John and Victor Musat.

Funeral Services will be held in the St. George Romanian Orthodox Church, 144 30th Street NW, Canton, 44709 at 10 AM on Thursday, May 9th,  with Very Rev. Fr. George J. Treff officiating. Friends may call Wednesday, May 8th from 6-8 PM also in the church where a Saracusta service will be held at 7:45 PM. Burial in North Lawn Cemetery.
