IN LOVING MEMORY OF
George M
Obrovac
February 18, 1954 – December 4, 2025
George Mark Obrovac was born Feb. 18th 1954 in Canton, Ohio to Mike and Vilma Obrovac.
As the second oldest, he was thrust into maturity at an early age, having to grow up quickly after the passing of his father when he was just eight years old. George shared a close bond with his siblings growing up, though it was not without its fair share of quarrels.
After graduating from Canton-McKinley High School in 1973 and being a standout offensive lineman, he attended Bowling Green State University, where he continued his passion for football.
After college, he moved to Florida, where he worked in nightclub operations in Fort Lauderdale.
In 1989, when his son Marko was four, George moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin to relocate for a better place to raise a family.
George moved back to the Canton, Ohio area in 2003 where he worked as a truck driver until retirement.
George was a generous man, known for his quick wit and his endearing stubbornness. He loved football, cooking, gardening, tinkering and repairing things to make them last, as well as the simple pleasures of duct tape, a good sturdy chair, and sharing his favorite stories. Above all, his greatest pride and joy was his son and his grandchildren.
George is preceded in death by his parents Michael & Vilma Obrovac, and Brothers Nicholas and Michael Obrovac. He is survived by his son Marko(Allison) Obrovac, grandchildren Faye & Knox, sister Hedy Dolan, nieces Manda Dolan-DeVita & Amanda Obrovac, nephew Sam Obrovac.
A private service will be held for family and close friends.
