George Stelea
George "Gigi" Stelea, 66, of N. Canton, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 26th. He was born August 10th, 1946 in Voivodeni, Romania, and immigrated to the United States in 1976 after marrying his love, Barbara (Barsan) Stelea. After moving to the United States, George worked at the Ford Motor Company for 10 years. While working at Ford, he also started a landscaping business on the side. After the Ford plant closed, his landscaping business, known as George's Lawn Care, became his passion. He enjoyed being outside, traveling, and his great love was Romanian folk dancing. He was the instructor of the Doina Romanian Folklore Ensemble. He was a showman and loved to perform his dancing for all crowds, big and small. He always had a smile on his face. The void created by his departure will be impossible to fill and will be felt by the many people he touched throughout his life.
