Gerald James Trachsel, 71, of New Philadelphia, passed away Thursday, January 23rd, at the VA Wade Park Hospital. Born in Dover on April 24, 1948, a son of the late James R. and  Marjorie (Bucher) Trachsel, also prececed in death by grandaughter Brittany. Served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict as a sergeant where he was awarded two bronze stars. Besides his wife Shelia K. (Sizemore) Trachsel, he is survived by 2 sons Duane (Susan) Trachsel, of Jackson, Chris (Lenee) Trachsel, of Rockbridge; 2 brothers Dale (Sandy) Trachsel, Steve Trachsel, all of New Philadelphia; 4 grandchildren Gage, Karrington, Paege, and Taera. A memorial service with military honors and burial will take place in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery Friday, February 21, 2020 at 2:00 PM.
