Gloria Jean (Thomas) Lott, 76, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 28, 2017, while surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and family friends.
Also preceded in death by her loving husband & constant companion of 55 years, Charles Eugene Lott, Sr., her son Christopher L. Thomas, her daughter Mary C. Babb, her sisters Louverta (Thomas) Dixon and Delores (Thomas) Hilaael, and her only brother Bruce Thomas.
She leaves to cherish her memory six sons, Kevin (Stephanie) Lott, Brandon (Lisa) Lott, Charles Lott, Jr., Douglas Lott, all of Canton; Kenneth (Editor) Lott, Nathaniel (Anetha) Lott, of Alliance; daughters, Shelbi Mealy, Tamara (Cedric) Perrin of Canton, Elizabeth (Lott) Middleton of Florida, Marcelle Jones of Lexington, Kentucky, and Toni Brown of Cleveland, Ohio.
Gloria graduated from Alliance High School in 1958. Her love of nursing was born when she able to serve as a Candy Striper and Nurse's Aide. After she moved to Canton, she worked at Kodak Camera Store, Geauga Plastics, and Ecko Manufacturing Plant. After the Ecko Manufacturing Plant closed its doors, she was able to go to nursing school and realize her life long dream of becoming a Registered Nurse at Aultman Hospital on the medical/surgical floor for 15 years.
She loved and served the Lord faithfully alongside her devoted husband, Charles Lott Sr., at Faith United Christian Church. She served as a Deaconess, Elder, Choir Member, and loyal member of her church. She provided free blood pressure screenings during the Faith United Christian Church's Summer Bible Camps and she and her husband also assisted with keeping their beloved Church clean and well maintained.
She also leaves to mourn her memory her loving grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
She went home to be with the Lord after an 11-year battle with breast cancer. The compassionate nurse in her still wanted to help others, so she donated her body to science.
A memorial service will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, February 4, 2017, at the Faith United Christian Church, 2411 Richmond Ave. NE, Canton, 44705.
