IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jacalyn K
Etheredge-Stout
April 24, 1953 – January 2, 2026
Jacalyn Kay Etheredge-Stout passed away Friday January 2, 2026,
peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous
year-long battle with brain cancer.
Crowned The Queen of Green in high school, she carried that passion for
her beloved community throughout her life, serving in numerous city
volunteer roles and most notably as President of the Green Alumni
Association. Her commitment to others was steadfast, heartfelt, and deeply
impactful.
Jackie embraced life with an unbreakable spirit. A natural entrepreneur, she
built businesses with determination and creativity. During her 30+ years in
California, she also explored acting, yet another reflection of her
adventurous nature. She loved her friends, cherished her family, and poured
her heart into renovating her farmhouse. Above all, her most treasured role
was being "Grandma" to her beloved grandchildren, James and Bo.
Jackie was deeply loved by all who knew her, and her warmth, courage, and
joy will be profoundly missed.
She is survived by her children, Justin & Zac Stout, Jena Gardner, her
son-in-law Gary Gardner, the father of her children, Gary Stout and her
grandchildren James and Bo Gardner. She is also survived by her siblings
Larry, Scott, and Steve Etheredge, her sister Jill McKay, her
sisters-in-law Karen and Janet Etheredge and Mary McKay, her
brother-in-law Mark McKay, and her many nieces and nephews: Amanda
& Jim Whitmore, Alison Stout, Susan & Corey Stick, Megan McKay,
Morgan & Jason Meyer, Lindsay McKay, Katie & Adam Fetty, Brian
Etheredge, and Miranda Etheredge.
Jackie's life was a testament to love, resilience, and community. Her legacy
will continue in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
