James R Burkhart, 60, of Canton, passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 2nd, at his Heaven on Earth "the farm" in Monroe County. James was born in Canton, Ohio on December 2, 1954, the son of the late Frederick E and Viola M (Biedenbach) Burkhart, Sr., also preceded in death by an infant brother Kenneth. Survived by daughter Jamie (Joshua) Dundr; grandson Silas; Stepdaughter Stefanie Henkel and her daughter Paige; Stepson Kyle Campbell; 3 sisters Darlene (Jim) Cantley, Donna (David) Dougherty, Janet (Dale) Scott; 6 brothers Frederick Jr (Nancy), Larry (Theresa), Ronald, John (Teresa), Lenny (Diane), Carl Burkhart; special friend Susan Prestier; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Graduated from Timken Vocational High School in 1972. Member of the former St. Paul's Catholic Church of Canton. Employed as a driver for City of Canton Sanitation Department. He was a great baseball player in the Canton area for many years; also enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, gardening, antiquing, spending time on the farm with family and friends, and bragging about his grandson.

A Gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday October 10 ^th from 1-4pm in the Waltner-SIMCHAK Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to a charity of your choice in honor of James.
