James W Griffin, 72, of Canton, passed away Monday, June 16th, at Mercy Medical Center. Born in Pennsylvania on January 27, 1953, a son of the late Jay Griffin and Ruby Griffin-Oxier. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brothers Robert Griffin, Olin Griffin, Steve Oxier, Mike Oxier and sisters Mary Street, Nancy Griffin. Survived by loving wife of over 40 years Vickie L Griffin; 3 daughters Kitty Matson, Jessica (Chad) Runkle, Stacy Thomas; son James (Marisa) Griffin II; 3 sisters Carol (Bob) Mosley, Donna (Mike) Hammerling, Kathy Oxier; brother Ron (Sharon) Oxier; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as other loving family members and friends. A funeral service will be held in the Waltner-Simchak Funeral Home on Thursday, June 26th at 12 PM with Pastor Ron Mayle officiating. Calling hours will be held from 11AM till time of service.
