James Mitchell Wolf
Tucker
September 16, 1961 – April 20, 2026
James Mitchell Wolf Tucker, 64, passed away peacefully at home on April 20, 2026. Born in Canton, he was the son of the late Sharon Ann (Tucker) Watts and Carl Richard Tucker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson Jordan Miles, and his beloved dog Wolf.
James proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines from 1978 to 1979. He was a man of deep curiosity and imagination, finding joy in worlds both real and imagined. An avid player of Dungeons & Dragons and a dedicated collector and player of Magic: The Gathering, he was known for his strategic mind and boundless creativity.
His love of storytelling extended into his impressive comic collection, with a special admiration for Batman, whose complexity and moral depth resonated with him. A lifelong learner, James held a strong interest in German, Scottish, and Native American history, often immersing himself in books and thoughtful discussions about the past. He considered himself a philosopher at heart, always reflecting on life's deeper meanings and sharing his insights with those around him.
James found peace in the outdoors. Whether camping beneath the stars or fishing alongside his father, he cherished the quiet beauty of nature. He also greatly enjoyed attending Renaissance fairs, where his passion for history came alive. His fascination with historical weaponry-especially swords-reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship and the stories carried through time. Books were his constant companions, offering him knowledge, escape, and inspiration.
He will be remembered for his intellect, his passions, and the unique perspective he brought to the world.
James is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth (Tucker) Miles, Veronica Tucker, and Geneva Jelks; his sons, Donovan Tucker and James Tucker; his sisters, Jaedan Tucker and Catherine (Tucker) Ballard; his brothers, Douglas Tucker and Robert Tucker; his granddaughter, Makayla Alrarellanes, along with several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends David Hensel, Herbert Bledsoe, Randy Lowther, and Aron Rue, as well as many other loving family members and friends.
A wake and reception will be held at the American Legion Post 44 on Friday, April 24, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Flowers may be sent to 277 Devinney Avenue, Louisville, 44641.
