Obituary

Jerry "Firewalker" Blankenship, 67, of Canton decided to take a ride to Heaven on May 25, 2026. Born in Canton on July 9, 1958, he was the son of the late Marvin and Georgiana (Wheeler) Blankenship. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 2 nephews Jesse and Eric Blankenship, as well as his brother, Fred Blankenship. Survived by his loving wife Tracy (Keane) Blankenship; 2 step-daughters Lindsey Brooke, Amber (Dean) Love; stepson Scott (Amy) Hines; sister Cara Blankenship; 2 brothers Randy (Kim) Blankenship, Mark (Roberta) Blankenship; grandson AJ Anthony Culver; 4 step-grandchildren Kody and Rylee Love, Memphis and Houston Hines; many nieces and nephews that he loved; as well as other loving family members and friends.

Jerry loved his wife, and his family and all things in life. He was carefree, kind, had a huge heart, loved all, and lived to ride. He was a free spirit, but also a wild man who loved his family and friends. Besides his wife, his grandson AJ was everything to him. Their bond was something special, the kind that words rarely capture. They were truly two peas in a pod. Jerry treasured overnight hangouts with AJ, mornings spent going out for breakfast, long summer days together, and weekends filled with laughter. Whether they were playing games, sharing stories, or simply enjoying each other's company, those moments meant everything to him. He loved that boy deeply and unconditionally, and anyone who saw them together knew the connection they shared was one built on love, friendship, and joy. Outside of the moments he cherished with AJ, Jerry enjoyed life's simple indulgences. Anyone close to him knew a big ole shot of tequila followed by a side chaser of Squirt ranked high on his list of favorites. It was part of his personality-easygoing, memorable, and uniquely Jerry.

His celebration of life is in the works for June 6, 2026 at 3pm in his brother Randy and Kimmie's house (3730 38th St. NW). Parking at the Church. We are having sausage, pepppers and onions.
