Obituary

Jimmy Earl Beason, 69, of Scio, Ohio, passed away on June 13, 2026 at the Truman House. Born in Kaufman, Texas on July 20, 1956, he was the son of the late Joe and Mary (Britton) Beason. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy "Dottie" Beason. A proud veteran of the Vietnam War, he honorably served his country as an Army Airborne soldier. During a time of great uncertainty and sacrifice, Jimmy answered the call to serve, stepping into one of history's most challenging conflicts with courage and a steadfast sense of duty. His military service reflected the grit and toughness that would remain hallmarks of his character throughout his life. Following his military service, Jimmy devoted his life to his work as an electrician. A true jack of all trades, there was little he couldn't fix, build, or figure out. He spent countless years working with his hands and solving problems, and by his own admission, he probably got shocked a time or two along the way. Yet, he always got back up and kept going, never shying away from hard work. Survived by his daughter, Jeanette Burrows; sister Linda Miller; 2 grandsons Michael Burrows, Troy (Brandy) Burrows Jr; as well as other loving family members and friends.
