Jo Ann Novakovich, 88, of Canton, passed away Thursday, March 16th, at home surrounded by loved ones. Born in East Liverpool on May 3, 1934, a daughter of the late  Robert L. and  Hazel (Pollock) Edgell, also preceded in death by her husband Mirko Novakovic, passed away May 30th, 1978, son Michael Joseph Novakovich, passed away March 25th, 2022, 3 sisters Thelma Hildebrand, Phyllis Sopko, Virginia Plumley, and brother Robert Edgell. She was a member of St. George Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church and was employed for Ohio Bell as a telephone operator for many years before retiring. Survived by 2 sons Daniel Novakovich, Mark Novakovich, 4 sisters Jean Tomlison, Sondra Hague, Carolyn Pallard, Linda Sullivan; brother Kenne Edgell; as well as numerous nieces; nephews; family members; and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, March 21st in the St. George Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church with Fr. Aleksa Pavichevich officiating. Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 20th from 4PM to 6PM in the Waltner-SIMCHAK Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
