John  PuiaAge 86, of Canton, passed away Monday, February 7th, 2011 at Aultman Hospital following a brief illness.

Born in Massillon,  on October 1, 1924, as a six month old infant moved to Romania for 21 years.

A 33yr employee in the Tool & Die Dept. of the Ford Motor Company of Canton, member of the St. George Romanian Catholic Cathedral of Canton and a 50yr member of the Lake Cable Fisherman's Club.

Preceded in death by his parents the late John and Carolina (Sofletea) Puia, his wife Anna  (Poparad) Puia, died August 21, 2008 and a sister, Mary Capata.

John is survived by a daughter, Caroline (Dale) Tinner of Lakeland, TN; two sons John (Teresa) Puia of Louisville and Alex (Jackie) Puia of Canton, three grandchildren, Nina (Aaron) Huffman, Kelli (Casey) Jones,Michael (Marea) Puia, one great-grandson, Jordan Jones, a sister Eugenia Pestesi and nephew Alex Pestesi both of Queens, NY.

Memorial Services will be held 1pm Thursday, February 10, 2011, at the Waltner-Simchak Funeral Home, with Rev. Father Ovidiu Marginean officiating.  Family requests memorial tributes to St. George Romanian Catholic Cathedral.
