Johnnie Ruth Zeffer, 71, of Akron, passed away Monday, March 15th. Born in Big Stone Gap, Virginia on June 28, 1949, a daughter of the late John and Juanita (Phillips) Skeen. A member of the former Copley Baptist Temple, she was an avid animal lover and friend to everyone she met. Johnnie had a caring personality and deep love for her family. Survived by husband of 51 years, Ronald Gene Zeffer of the home; daughter Adrienne (Philip) Stump; son Paul (Louisa) Zeffer, all of Akron; brother Frank (Robin) Skeen, of Wellington, Florida; 4 grandchildren Miranda, Miriah, Marina and Nicholas as well as 5 great-grandchildren, Peighton, Jocelyn, Avalynn, Raelyn, Nora and beloved dog Trace. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 20th at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Prayer Baptist Church, 1811 Brittain Rd, Akron, with Pastor Sherman Bailey officiating.
