Obituary

Joseph Todd DeMattio, 23, of Dover, passed away Saturday, December 25th. Joseph was born in Dover on May 2, 1998, a son of Lori Daniels and Todd DeMattio. Joey attended Dover High School and graduated from Quaker Digital Academy. He had planned on attending National Beauty College of Canton, Ohio because of his interest in skin and hair care. As anyone who knew Joey knows, he loved dyeing hair and frequently changed his own hair color. Joey worked several jobs locally before moving to Colorado, where he made many friends and worked in the hospitality industry. As well as went on many adventures, including paddle boarding, hiking the Rocky Mountains, and parties. He then returned home to be with friends and family where he lived and worked until the accident on August 27th, 2020. From that time on until his passing he remained in a coma. Joey touched many lives, had many friends from all walks of life to whom he was extremely loyal and caring. Joey enjoyed going to concerts, dancing (he actually won a twerking contest and won money!), music, movies, cats, alien stuff, and he loved attending Pride rallies. As he was a strong advocate for the LGBTQ community. Ru Paul and Queer Eye for the Straight guy have lost a big fan. Joey's family would like to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts, including Grace Hospice and Meadow Winds Health Center, for the outpouring of love, generosity, care and support. Besides his parents, he is also survived by sister Rayna W. Daniels-Miller, of Dover; brother Jakob Thomas DeMattio (Tristan Lorenz); niece Dayla Ann-Marie DeMattio, all of Dover; 2 half brothers Anthony DeMattio, of New Philadelphia, Kyler DeMattio, of New Philadelphia; 2 step brothers Zachary Miller, of New Philadelphia, Dylan Miller, of Tuscarawas; grandparents Tom and Marlene Daniels of Dover, Albert and Kay DeMattio of New Philadelphia; step father Zach Miller of Dover; aunt and uncle Ryan and Jen Daniels and sister-cousins Sydney Gray and Shaylin Doutt..
