Josephine Newman, 78, of East Canton, passed away Tuesday, January 2nd, at Mercy Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Born in Philippi, West Virginia on June 15, 1939, a daughter of the late Robert and Evelenie (Croston) Kennedy; also preceded in death by 2 sons Danny and Robert Newman. Survived by her husband Robert Newman, to whom she married August 24th, 1963, 2 sons Michael (Tracy) Newman, Jerry Newman, both of East Canton; also survived by 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. Funeral Services will be held 1pm Monday, January 8th, in the Stemple and Forman Funeral Home in Philippi, WV, with Terry Newman officiating, with burial to follow in the Welsh Cemetery. Local calling hours will be held 5-8pm Saturday, January 6th, in the Waltner-Simchak Funeral Home, and 5-8pm Sunday, January 7th, in the Stemple and Forman Funeral Home in West Virginia.
