Joyce Maitert MacDonald, 91, passed away on April 10, 2015 from complications following a stroke in the House of Loreto of Canton where she had been a resident since 2008. Joyce was born on May 31, 1923, the second child and second daughter to the late Gustav and Crystal Herbruck Maitert. Also preceded in death by her sister Crystal Maitert.

After graduating from McKinley High School in 1941, Joyce entered Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. In 1943 she joined the WWII Cadet Nursing Corps and graduated from nursing school in October of 1944. Joyce loved cats and music, was a master gardener and a member of Mensa.

She had two children with her first husband George Padermos. She is survived by her second husband Malcolm "Scotty" MacDonald, to whom she was married for 60 years.

Survived by three daughters, Christine Padermos Costilow, Heather MacDonald, Heidi Valle and son Stephen Padermos, as well as seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff and Sisters of The House of Loreto for their wonderful loving care.
