Obituary

Karl Tracy, 68, of North Canton passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026 in his home. Born in Massillon on July 18, 1958, he was the son of Phyllis (Kindelberger) Husk and the late Eugene Tracy. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Koch) Tracy, as well as two siblings, Kim Aberth and Tim Hershberger. Karl was a man who was deeply loved and will be remembered for his kind heart, infectious personality, strong faith, and genuine love for people. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. His presence brought warmth and laughter wherever he went, and his many dad jokes were always a memorable part of being around him. A proud McKinley High School Bulldog, Karl graduated with the Class of 1977 and carried that Bulldog pride with him throughout his life. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army. Karl's faith was an important part of who he was. He was associated with Cathedral of Life Church, where he loved being involved in ministry, attending church, and spending time with his church family. His love for ministry and his desire to connect with and help others reflected the caring person he was. Karl had a true spirit of adventure. He loved hiking, backpacking, cycling, traveling, and going on excursions. He enjoyed pushing himself and experiencing new places and adventures, even completing an impressive 80-mile bike ride. Whether he was exploring somewhere new or simply enjoying the outdoors, Karl embraced life and all it had to offer. Karl had a sweet tooth and never passed up the opportunity to enjoy his favorite treats. He was known for being a sharp dresser and took pride in his appearance. He especially loved shoes and could appreciate a good pair when he saw one. Family was at the heart of Karl's life. He was a loving and devoted father who cherished his children and took great pride in the people they had become. He was also a proud grandfather who adored his grandchildren and treasured the time he spent with them. Karl loved being there for his family, supporting them, celebrating their accomplishments, and making memories together whenever he could. The love he shared with his children and grandchildren will remain a lasting part of their lives and memories. Karl will be remembered as a truly loved man-a devoted family member, a man of faith, an adventurer, a proud Bulldog, a storyteller, and someone who never met a stranger. His laughter, dad jokes, conversations, and loving presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
