Obituary

Kurt P. Hill 1953 - 2026.
Age 72, of Canton, went home to be with the Lord, October 23, 2026, after weathering an extended illness. He fought tirelessly against several health conditions that greatly impacted his quality of life, finding strength in watching his family flourish.

He was born in Canton, Ohio, to the late John and Dorothy Hill. Along with his parents, Kurt was preceded in death by his ex-wife and friend Linda Hill; brother, Rick Hill; and sisters, Sandra, Sharon, Myra, and Pam. Kurt's legacy continues through his daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth "Libby" and Daniel Parker and his two granddaughters, Lauren Clark and Hazel Parker, all of North Canton. He is survived by his longtime companion Kim Kilcullen; brothers Kenny, Randy, and Tim; sisters, Susie, Peggy, and Margie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kurt graduated from Canton McKinley High School in 1971. After graduating, he worked as a salesman for Frito Lay. He eventually pursued what he was passionate about doing, which was working as a talented carpenter, who deeply cared for his craft. Also known for his baking, Kurt loved doing so for others. He enjoyed golfing, watching sports, and listening to music. Despite his physical struggles, he was exceptionally cognizant, which is a testament to his resilience.

Later in life, his illness prevented him from physically attending family events; however, his immeasurable support was always known. Kurt was an incredibly thoughtful man, who showed his love and care for others through his surprising foresight, specifically anticipating the needs of his granddaughters. He was perhaps most proud to be called "Papa," and his granddaughters are honored to have known him as such.

His family takes comfort in knowing that Kurt is no longer suffering, and that he can breathe without restraint. The family wants to especially acknowledge and thank Kim for her tireless years of working around the clock to care for Kurt. Kurt's wish was that no services be held, and his family is respecting that request. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
