Larry Shaw, Sr., 79, of Akron, passed away Sunday, March 23rd. Born in Akron, on December 7, 1945, a son of the late Lawrence and Thelma Shaw. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by brother Charles "Chuck" Shaw, sister Louise Shaw. Larry proudly served in the U.S Army, he was a Green Beret and a Vietnam Veteran. He enjoyed sports, some of his favorites were watching the Cavs, Ohio State, the Browns and the Yankees. Larry was also a member of the Softball Hall of Fame and a devoted member of the Firestone Park Presbyterian Church. Survived by loving wife Erica (Hudak) Shaw; son Larry Shaw Jr.; the Hammerschmidt family; the North family; the Izzi family as well as other family and friends. A memorial service will be held in the Firestone Park Presbyterian Church on Saturday, March 29 at 12 PM with Pastor Lisa Zimmerman and Pastor Francie Fischer officiating. Calling hours will take place from 10 AM until time of service.
