Lewis F. Street, Sr, 84, of Canton, passed away while surrounded by his family at Mercy Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Born in Rowe, Virginia on December 31, 1934, a son of the late Rell and Callie (Short) Street, also preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary (Griffin) Street; 7 sisters; and 5 brothers.  Employed at Monarch Rubber until its closing, for 27 years and continued to work well into his 80s. Survived by 2 sons Lewis (Carmen) Street Jr., of Canton, and Alan (Janette) Street; 3 grandchildren Samantha, Gabrielle, and Alexandria Street all of Malvern; sister Dolly; brother Dempsey; both of Virginia; many nieces; nephews; loving family; and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Friday, January 18th in the Waltner-SIMCHAK Funeral Home. Friends may call on Thursday, January 17th from 6:30PM until 8:30PM also in the funeral home.
