Obituary

Lindsey Erin Brooks Carmean, 49, of Canton, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 23rd, in her home. Born in Canton, on July 1, 1976, a daughter of Pamella (Winkler) Smith and Robert Carmean. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Ruth & Dale Winkler, paternal grandmother Katherine Carmean, uncle Ned Winkler, and her beloved dogs Onyx & Surry. Lindsey was a woman of deep faith, unwavering kindness, and quiet strength. Her love for God guided every step she took, and her life was a reflection of that love — full of grace, compassion, and service to others. A gifted artist, Lindsey had a unique way of seeing the world. Through her paintings, she captured beauty in its purest form. She shared it generously, inspiring everyone who had the privilege to witness her work. Music was the rhythm of Lindsey's soul. A brilliant pianist, she brought joy, peace, and sometimes tears through the keys of the piano. Whether in church, at home, or during quiet moments of reflection, her music uplifted hearts and created sacred spaces wherever she played. Lindsey also found joy in the simple, meaningful rhythms of daily life. She loved to cook — her meals were always made with care, and she found satisfaction in creating a clean, comfortable home. But more than anything, Lindsey will be remembered for her heart. She had an extraordinary gift for caring, not just in word, but in action. She noticed people. She listened. She gave of herself without expectation, believing in the goodness of others even when they couldn't see it in themselves. Her presence was a comfort, her smile a light, her love a steady force in an often unsteady world. In addition to her parents, she is survived by daughter Carmean Brooks; 2 sons Raymond Brooks, Aaron Brooks; brother Jason Robert Carmean; niece Shera Winkler; nephew Davie Winkler; aunt Jae Winkler; as well as other family members and friends. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 9th at 10 AM in the Harter Heights Community Church • 171 Aultman Ave NW Canton, Ohio 44708 • Lunch to follow.
