Marion Daniel Miner, 71, of Canton passed away on Saturday, December 20th, in his home. Born in Canton on November 14th, 1954 to the late Hoyt and Levonia (Croston) Miner. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Reatha (Hall) Miner, daughter Christie Zaragoza, son Marion Daniel Miner Jr., 5 brothers Michael, Larry, Peter, Edward and Troy Miner, 2 sisters Laura Miner and Ruth Ann Jackson. Marion was an avid lover of fishing, appreciating the quiet moments by the water and the patience it required. It was where he felt most at ease, surrounded by nature and the gentle rhythm of the day. Some of his favorite times were spent taking rides in his truck, enjoying the open road and the comfort of a familiar drive. He also had a deep fondness for watching westerns, drawn to their stories of grit, loyalty, and wide-open landscapes. These films brought him comfort and entertainment, often becoming a familiar backdrop to his days. Anyone who knew Marion knew he had a sweet tooth. Ice cream and other sugary treats were among his favorite indulgences, bringing him simple delight and a smile that was easy to recognize. He will be remembered for his love of life's small pleasures and the quiet happiness he found in them. His memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew him and shared in the moments that mattered most. Survived by daughter, Jamie Miner; son, Jeremiah Miner; sister, Paulette (Lee) Taylor; 9 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Anthony, Erica, Steven, Caitlyn, Wialleah (Christina), Juan Jr., Marcela, Sofia, and Mason; 1 great-grandchild; tons of nieces and nephews; as well as other loving family members and friends.
