Mary L Chekan, 84, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, August 21st, at Alliance Community Hospital. Born in Canton, on November 26, 1934, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Kuchta) Stefanak also preceded in death by brother Joseph J. Stefanak. She was a former member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and current member of Our Lady of Peace Church, both of Canton. Mary worked for 35 years at the former Shulans Jewelers anc managed for 5 years at Arts Jewelers. Besides her husband of 59 years, Ernest Chekan, she is survived by sister Sophie Michel, of Canton. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, August 26th at 11:00 AM in Christ the Servant Parish at Our Lady of Peace Church in Canton, Ohio with Msgr. Lewis F. Gaetano officiating.
