IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Ellen
(Kutz) Binkley
August 27, 1934 – October 1, 2024
Mary Ellen Binkley, age 90, of Canton, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2024 surrounded by family at St. Luke Lutheran Community in North Canton, welcomed into Heaven by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born on August 27, 1934 to the late John and Gladys Kutz and was a 1952 graduate of Timken Vocational High School. After graduating she was employed by Hercules Engine Company as an office worker. She married Robert C. Binkley in August 1959, beginning their wonderful 55 year marriage together. She loved raising her five children as a stay at home Mom, as her kids were always her greatest joy. Mary was a member of Crystal Park United Methodist Church, very involved in the nursery, choir and wherever needed as she had a servant's heart. She was very involved with her children's school activities and always volunteered at parent/teacher events and meetings. She never missed any sporting and band programs that the kids participated in, encouraging them as their biggest fan and supporter. Mary was known to be one of the best bargain hunters in the city. She would not buy anything for the family that was not on sale or unless she had a coupon. In Mary's later years she loved to do volunteer work at House of Loreto in Canton. She greatly loved the sisters there and really looked forward to the lunches with them. Mary always looked forward to her monthly Bunco game days with her longtime friends and family members (Franny, Auldine, Rosemary, Hilda, Kim, Mick, Debbie, Claudia and Dolly). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Binkley; sister Virginia "Ginger" Bradshaw; brothers Kenneth Kutz, Richard Kutz and Robert Kutz; and daughter-in-law Claudia Binkley. Mary is survived by brothers Jack (Mary) Kutz and William Kutz; sisters Carol Smith, Frances (Perry) Bickel, Irene Kutz and Eileen (Tim) McDonald; son David Binkley; daughter Amy (Jamey) Brinker; and sons Douglas Binkley, Richard Binkley, Scott (April) Binkley; 3 granddaughters, Sara (David) Proctor, Mindy (Marcus) McVay, Mara (Joshua) Seylar; 6 grandsons, Brian (Megan) Binkley, Aaron (Amanda) Binkley, John (Briana) Binkley, Nathan (Ashley) Binkley, Jesse Binkley and Evan Brinker; 11 great-granddaughters and 5 great-grandsons. A very special thank you to the Laurel Valley staff at St Luke for your continued love and care during Mom's illness. We also want to acknowledge the outstanding care provided by Crossroads Hospice during her last days. Calling hours visitation will be held on Wednesday Oct 9, 2024 from 11am to 12pm at Crystal Park United Methodist Church, 2219 Mahoning Rd NE, Canton with funeral following at 12 Noon.
